How can I maximize the space in my small bathroom?

To maximize your space, incorporate lighting and custom cabinets designed specifically for your space. Good lighting and usable storage space will make your bathroom much more functional.

A designed lighting plan will make a small bathroom function better and seem larger. Sconces on the side of the mirror or a vanity light on the wall over the mirror will adequately light your face for putting on makeup or shaving. Make sure that the vanity fixture(s) have a high wattage output since it is unsafe to put more wattage in a fixture than the fixture is designed for. An exhaust fan with a light will give you adequate light in the shower and bath area. Adding a ceiling-mounted fluorescent fixture will flood the rest of the room with light.

Custom-designed cabinets will take full advantage of the space you have to work with. Have your space measured and design the layout with the most functional storage. Utilize a mirrored medicine cabinet and add a wall cabinet over the toilet for extra storage. Wide drawers are great for hair dryers, curling irons, makeup, etc. Hide your electric toothbrush and electric razor in a cabinet that you’ve had an electrician wire with an outlet.

A well-thought-out bathroom design will allow you to take full advantage of every inch.
