The Colorado Department of Labor and Employment is holding a layoff transition workshop Friday for former Adam Aircraft workers.
Adam Aircraft shut down its operations last week, laying off its remaining 500 employees, and then filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy liquidation.
The workshop will be at the Clarion Hotel, 7770 S. Peoria St., near Centennial Airport, with sessions from 9 to 11 a.m. and 1 to 3 p.m.
Representatives from the Department of Labor and Employment will tell workers how to file for unemployment benefits and other information such as job-placement assistance and the possibility for training funds.
The department said it has been working with several aviation companies and will offer information about job openings in the industry. Among the companies that are interested in former Adam Aircraft employees are Gulfstream, HondaJet, Eclipse Aviation, Bombardier Learjet, Cirrus Design Corp., Dassault Falcon, Piper Aircraft, Teledyne Continental Motors, Cessna Aircraft and Aurora Flight Sciences.
