Authorities are looking for help in finding the driver of a vehicle who hit a pedestrian in Fort Collins and then fled the scene.

Shannon Helmlinger, 37, of Boulder, was hit while walking east on the north frontage road of East Mulberry Street, the Colorado State Patrol said.

The vehicle was heading west on the frontage road when it hit Helmlinger just east of South Summit View Drive.

Helmlinger, who was thrown by the impact and landed in ditch, remains in the Poudre Valley Hospital where she is being treated for serious injuries.

Anyone with information on the hit-and-run is asked to call the state patrol at 303 239-4501.
