Commerce City police are asking for the public’s help in finding a suspect in an attempted robbery and shooting Saturday.
About 3 p.m., a man demanded money from a worker in a fenced parking lot near the Sara Lee bread factory at 7040 E. 56th Ave.
When the worker said he didn’t have any money, the suspect took out a gun and shot him once in the right shoulder.
The suspect fled on foot, police said.
The 37-year-old worker from Arvada is now recovering at home, police said today. He helped a sketch artist create a composite drawing of the suspect.
The suspect is described as a Latino in his 20s, 5-foot-10 with broad shoulders, a light mustache and a goatee. He was wearing a gray pullover and a black beanie during the crime.
Anyone with information on this case is asked to call Detective Bryan VanderMeer at 303-227-8837.
