GREELEY — Sean Taibi scored 20 points Saturday and Jabril Banks added 19 to lead the Bears.

Banks was 9-for-9 from the field, and Taibi scored his 250th career 3-pointer in his last home game.

“I told the team before the game, ‘You have nothing to lose. Just go out and play,’ ” UNC coach Tad Boyle said. “I was pleased with our effort and execution tonight. Jabril and Sean, we look for those guys and they came through.”


Colorado Mines 77, Colorado Christian 74

LAKEWOOD — Chad Friehauf tipped in a missed shot with 31 seconds left, then Kyle Pape and Friehauf each made one free throw in the waning seconds to preserve the win.

Pape finished with 23 points, Friehauf 22. The Cougars’ Brian Stamer led all scorers with 35 points. He made a jumper with 14 seconds left and then a steal with nine seconds remaining that led to two free throws from Jordan Long that drew Christian to within 75-74.


Regis 76, Chadron State 65

CHADRON, Neb. — Geremy Gibson scored 41 to lead the Rangers, who built a 43-29 halftime lead and kept the Eagles at bay in the second half.

Gibson made 15-of-22 shots from the floor and 11-of-13 at the free-throw line. He also had six rebounds and five assists.
