COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—Police in Colorado Springs say a man arrested in the fatal hit-and-run death of a teen faces charges including negligent homicide.

Police Sergeant Bob Benjamin told The Gazette that 20-year-old Michael E. Gibbs also was arrested Saturday on suspicion of four counts of reckless endangerment and driving under the influence with an excessive blood-alcohol content—or at least 0.15.

Police say 14-year-old Graham Johnson and four friends were standing on a neighborhood road around 1:30 a.m. Saturday when a car lost control, went off the road and struck the teen.

Police say officers followed a trail of vehicle fluid to Gibbs’ home.

Graham attended Cheyenne Mountain High School.
