AIR FORCE ACADEMY — Air Force used an 18-0 run in the first half en route to a 62-53 win Sunday over Colorado State.
Trailing 26-13 with 6:24 left in the first half, the Falcons (9-16, 3-10 Mountain West) went on the run over the next four minutes to jump ahead 31-26.
Air Force also capitalized on 25 CSU turnovers. The Falcons committed 10 and won the points-off-turnovers battle 25-12.
The Falcons led 36-32 at halftime and never looked back in winning their third straight over the Rams (2-23, 0-12).
Denver 72, New Orleans 44
All 11 Pioneers scored and DU honored seniors Sara Benham, Jenna Cole, Brooke Meyer and Alisha Godette in the final regular-season home game of their career.
“We couldn’t have had a better senior day,” coach Pam Tanner said. “We played great team ball. We shared the basketball really well today.”
DU (11-16, 6-10 Sun Belt) junior guard Andie Mason had a career-high 17 points. New Orleans (12-15, 6-10) was led by Brittany Helm’s 21 points.
