The Rocky Mountain Rage did not have to share first place for long. The Rage beat the Colorado Eagles 7-1 on Sunday to regain first place in the Northwest Division of the Central Hockey League one night after the Eagles tied the Rage for first place. The Rage had been in first place all season until Saturday.

Rage goalie Scott Reid had 40 saves and six Rage players scored. Rage captain Brent Cullaton scored the lone goal in the first period. Cullaton scored again in the second and was on the ice for every goal in the Rage’s four-goal second period.

With the victory, the Rage improved to 32-14-5 and took a two-point lead on the Eagles.

Mammoth loses to Calgary.

The Colorado Mammoth dropped its second straight game, losing to host Calgary 12-9.

The Mammoth took a 2-0 lead before Calgary scored 12 of the next 14 goals. Colorado made a late comeback effort, scoring the final five goals.

Gavin Prout led the Mammoth with two goals and two assists. Colorado fell to 5-2 and remained in first place in the West Division.
