Molly Wilson of Basalt finished second in Sunday’s snowboard slopestyle competition at the Revolution Tour at Mount Hood, Ore., a development tour created by U.S. Skiing and Snowboarding. Other Colorado athletes at the event included Cleve Johnson of Basalt, who placed fifth in men’s snowboardcross, and Kyla Sobieralski of Carbondale, fifth in the women’s halfpipe.
• Alice McKennis, 18, of Glenwood Springs turned in the top U.S. performance at Saturday’s super-G race as the FIS Alpine Junior World Championships opened with unseasonable 40-degree weather and soft snow in Formigal, Spain. McKennis finished 19th with a time of 1:44.10. German gold medalist Viktoria Rebensburg finished in 1:40.19.
• Tyler Jewell of Steamboat Springs led U.S. riders at a World Cup parallel giant slalom snowboard race Sunday in Goju-Gifu, Japan, where he finished fifth. Jewell’s finish puts him in 13th place in the World Cup parallel giant slalom standings.
