The third annual Ski for SIDS charity event hits the slopes of Keystone Resort on Sunday, giving skiers of all abilities an opportunity to ride the lifts and the mountain with Norwegian ski champion Freda Nieters in a fund- raiser to save babies’ lives.
With a charitable contribution of $100 for adults ($50 for kids ages 13-17), skiers will be able to purchase a $40 lift ticket and enter the “ski-a-thon” that includes an afternoon awards celebration and barbecue. Kids 12 and younger ski for free, and a 10 percent discount is offered for groups of two or more skiers. Proceeds from the tax-deductible event go toward research, education and local programs organized by First Candle, the nation’s leading organization dedicated to infant health.
Awards will be given to the individuals and teams that raise the most money and complete the most laps.
