Police are asking the public’s help in locating an at-risk adult who disappeared from the Westminster Mall this afternoon.
The Westminster police identified the man as Lloyd Lopez, 65, of Brighton who was last seen at the mall about 3:30 p.m
Investigator Wayne Reed said Lopez is developmentally disabled and requires assistance and supervision from caregivers.
He has episodes in which he simply begins walking, Reed said. He has not been a danger to others in the past and is able to speak and have a conversation.
Reed said that the Westminster Police Department was notified about 4:15 p.m., and officers conducted a sweep of the areas as well as contacting surrounding businesses.
They also notified mall security and loss-prevention personnel at several large stores in hopes they might see Lopez on their security cameras.
Lopez is described as being 5 feet 8 inches tall with salt-and-pepper hair, which is mostly white.
He was last seen wearing a blue sweatshirt, burgundy pants and black velcro shoes.
If seen, the Westminster police are asking the public to call them immediately at 303-430-2400, ext. 5.
