The winner: Melanie Short, AIA, Denver: I’m a preservation architect, and I know this building because we did the restoration on it. The old Frederick City Hall was constructed between 1908 and 1913 and is the first designated landmark building in Frederick. When they built the new city hall, they rolled this one several blocks down the street to a new home in a park. Originally, it had a little jail on the back.
