DIVIDE, Colo.—A National Guard helicopter crew has rescued a hiker who spent a night on Pikes Peak.
Search officials say 21-year-old Rel Wishkovsky of Denver got separated from a friend while hiking Friday.
The friend returned early, but Wishkovsky spent the night on the mountain after apparently taking a wrong turn. The friend notified authorities when Wishkovsky didn’t return.
Wishkovsky kept in touch with authorities by cell phone, and two Blackhawk helicopters helped with the search from the air after daylight. The hiker was rescued around 3 p.m.
