A 39-year-old woman died Saturday morning on lower Mary Jane trail after hitting a tree at Winter Park Resort, authorities say.
The woman, whose name had not been released, was knocked unconscious at 9:02 a.m., said Darcy Morse, spokeswoman for the resort.
Ski patrollers were in the area and responded immediately. They administered CPR while transporting the skier to Seven Mile Clinic at the base of the ski resort, Morse said. Doctors pronounced the woman dead about 9:30 a.m., she said. The woman was the 10th skier killed on Colorado slopes this year. In half the skiing deaths, the victim died after striking a tree.
