Denver reserve guard Chucky Atkins said Wednesday morning that he could possibly make his return Wednesday night, but by tipoff he was wearing street clothes on the bench.
At the Wednesday morning shootaround, Karl said, “I told him, ‘You look like you’re in the third day of training camp, where your body wants to do more than it can.’ ”
Atkins, who is recovering from sports hernia surgery, is shooting to play on Friday. He returned to practice Monday.
