Today-Saturday

Was the Big, Bad Wolf really so big and bad? That’s the question kids have to ponder during “What Really Happened Once Upon a Time,” the new Kids Kabaret show at Boulder’s Dinner Theatre. The wolf certainly got the villain treatment in “Little Red Riding Hood” and “The Three Little Pigs” — but maybe he didn’t deserve it. The play lets audiences become the “wolves of justice,” check the facts and decide for themselves. 10 a.m. today and 11 a.m. Saturday. Boulder’s Dinner Theatre, 5501 Arapahoe Ave.; 303-449-6000. The show runs on select Wednesdays through Saturdays until May 31. $7 per person, $6 each for groups of 12 or more. 303-449-6000, ext. 4 for advance seats.

Sunday

Sunday mornings are a little more fun at the Museum of Contemporary Art/Denver. Smart Brunch Sundays, the museum’s art-centered programs for the whole family, allow parents to bring the kids and take a breather at the same time. The fun starts with a guided tour of the museum, which opened last fall. After exploring the galleries, kids can make their own art while the grown-ups enjoy coffee and mimosas in the cafe. This week’s program, which will repeat on March 23, features works by sculptor David Altmejd. 10-11:30 a.m. Sunday. Museum of Contemporary Art/Denver, 1485 Delgany St.; 303-298-7554. $20 for one child and one adult, $15 for museum members or additional participants. E-mail alisonc@mcadenver.com.
