NEW YORK — Four years after disbanding, Phish is getting a lifetime-achievement award from the Jammysbut don’t get your hopes up about a reunion of the Vermont-based jam band that developed a Grateful Dead-like following during its 21-year run.

The annual awards show honors the best in improvisational music. It’s not clear whether all the band members — Trey Anastasio, Jon Fishman, Mike Gordon and Page McConnell — will show up for the May 7 event in New York. At this time, there are no plans for them to perform, said Peter Shapiro, the show’s executive producer and co-founder.
