FORT MORGAN, Colo.—Morgan County authorities are asking for help from the public to locate a man considered a “person of interest” in a 1993 killing.

Deputies say 37-year-old James Samuel England was involved in a hit-and-run crash Wednesday, but got away after he gave a false name.

He was last seen in the area of St. Anthony Hospital-North in Denver.

Authorities say a television report about the unsolved homicide that aired last month may have spooked England, and that witnesses in the cold case are still being threatened.

The body of William “Billy” Trimbach was found in Morgan County on Valentine’s Day 1993. No one’s been arrested or charged.

England is described as a white male, 6-foot-3, weighting more than 200 pounds, with hazel eyes and a shaved head.
