INDIANAPOLIS — Indiana suspended record-setting quarterback Kellen Lewis indefinitely for violating undisclosed team rules.

Lewis threw for 3,043 yards and 28 touchdowns — both school records — and rushed for another 736 yards and nine more TDs while starting all 13 games and leading the Hoosiers to their first bowl game in 14 years last season.

• Georgia coach Mark Richt received an $800,000 raise, increasing his annual pay to $2.8 million.

• James Cleveland, Iowa’s second-leading receiver last season, and backup quarterback Arvell Nelson have been dismissed from the team. The players were arrested on drug charges last month and had been suspended indefinitely.

• Suspended Penn State defensive tackle Chris Baker has been cleared by a university judicial affairs panel of wrongdoing during a fight on campus last fall in which one man was hurt.

• The Las Vegas Bowl, which pits teams from the Mountain West and Pac-10 conferences, announced the game will be played Dec. 20.
