PRB Energy Inc., the Denver-based oil- and-gas-exploration company that went public in 2005, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection less than a week after receiving a disputed notice of default. PRB and two affiliates listed assets of $23.2 million against debt of $45.6 million in a Chapter 11 petition filed Thursday in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Denver.
