This old-fashioned liqueur popular in tropical drinks comes from Norm Andrews, bartender at Ají Restaurant in Boulder.
Ingredients
6 oranges
10 cloves
2 ounces fresh grated ginger
1 liter white rum
1 teaspoon almond extract
1/2 cup sugar
Directions
Remove the zest from the oranges, and then add the zest, cloves, and ginger to the rum. Let it sit for 10 days. Add almond extract and sugar. Shake to dissolve sugar, strain the liquid and return to bottle.
