Re: Shells & Sauce review, Feb. 27

Your article this morning talked about “good noise” in a restaurant. Can we strike a balance here?

Younger folks like lots of noise, while us older ones like less of it. I don’t want to dine in a tomb or a library, but I really would like to be able to hear my dining companions — and be heard by them — without shouting. Conversation is a part of the dining experience, isn’t it?

I understand that restaurateurs seek the younger dining crowd, but could we please have just a modicum of consideration when it comes to the noise level?
