Lockheed Martin said it submitted its proposal to NASA to design and build a spacecraft for the Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite — Series R, which are environmental satellites for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
The contract is scheduled to be awarded late this year, including two satellites and options for two more spacecraft, with a total program value of more than $1 billion.
