DENVER—A New Mexico man is dead and a woman has been hospitalized after a two-car crash in Weld County.
The Colorado State Patrol says 82-year-old Bernard Ellis of Albuquerque was eastbound on County Road 20 on Monday morning when he ran a stop sign in his 1997 Chrysler and hit a 2001 Volkswagen Jetta.
He was airlifted to a Denver hospital and later pronounced dead.
Eighty-year-old Dolores Ellis of Albuquerque suffered moderate injuries. She was taken to a Loveland hospital.
The driver and passenger of the VW suffered moderate injuries and were taken to a Longmont hospital. They’re identified as 19-year-old Chris Castaneda of Longmont and 19-year-old Michael Borchert of Fort Lupton.
