Steve Keeney, longtime Denver radio executive, retires as president and general manager of Denver Radio Co., succeeded by sales director Blake Mendenhall.
Keeney, who remains on the board and a will act as a paid adviser for Denver Radio Co., formerly oversaw CBS Denver, All Comedy Radio’s O&O Stations, CBS Portland, Viacom’s KHOW AM & FM and Jefferson Pilot’s KIMN and KYGO in Denver. Mendenhall was previously sales director for CBS Radio in Denver and Citadel Albuquerque.
Keeney recent guided KTNI “Martini” at 101.5fm and KONN “One GM” at 107.1fm through format changes and Chapter 11.
“I targeted 65 as a benchmark, whether you like reaching it or not,” Keeney said. It’s good timing for me.”
