NEW YORK — Chevron, the second largest U.S. energy company, plans to spend $7.3 billion in the next decade to extract natural gas from fields in the Rocky Mountains.
The San Ramon, Calif.- based company plans to drill 3,000 wells in northwestern Colorado to develop so-called tight-gas deposits, or reserves encased in dense rock, chief executive David O’Reilly told analysts Tuesday.
