LONGMONT — A standoff lasting more than five hours ended at 9:45 p.m. Wednesday when a police robot found a man’s body in an apartment.
Police had surrounded an apartment complex in northwest Longmont after random shots were fired at several cars about 4:10 p.m.
Four blocks around The Shores complex in the upscale neighborhood were blocked off, and two buildings were evacuated, including the building where a suspect, identified as Douglas Fedorock, 36, was believed to be hiding. Before 9:45 p.m., Longmont police fired tear gas into the apartment and sent in the robot. No injuries were reported from the afternoon gunshots, but two of the shots struck an unoccupied car outside the building. Police don’t believe the vehicle was targeted.
