The younger brother of U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Mike Leavitt filed to run for Congress on Thursday in a crowded GOP field in Utah vying for the seat of Republican U.S. Rep. Chris Cannon, right. David Leavitt, a former Juab County attorney, successfully prosecuted a polygamist leader, Tom Green, and then lost his re-election bid three months later. Cannon has been criticized by conservatives, particularly on illegal immigration.
