Peter Forsberg is back — back out of the Avalanche lineup.
The Swedish star didn’t participate in the Avalanche morning skate in Calgary and won’t play tonight against the Flames, Avalanche coach Joel Quenneville said.
“Peter is out, day to day,” Quenneville said after the skate. “He’s not playing tonight.”
After his February 25 signing, Forsberg entered the Avalanche lineup against Vancouver on March 4, but his absence tonight will mean he will have played in only four of Colorado’s nine games since. He missed four games in a row before playing nearly 20 minutes against Minnesota on Monday night at St. Paul.
Avalanche center Paul Stastny, who has been fighting the flu, wasn’t on the ice at the morning skate, either, but Quenneville said Stastny would play against the Flames.
