DOUGLAS COUNTY — Western Union will close its offices in Missouri and Texas, eliminating 650 union jobs at a cost of $60 million.
The employees, about 10 percent of the workforce, operate call centers or perform other administrative work, tasks that will move to remaining Western Union offices or be outsourced by the second half of this year, the Douglas County-based company said Thursday in a regulatory filing.
