Snow will hold on today in parts of the high country as Denver bathes in sunshine.

Mostly sunny skies over Denver today will help area high temperatures climb into the mid-50s, and winds should be light in the city, according to the National Weather Service.

Clouds are expected to stream over Denver tonight, however, bringing a slight chance — 10 percent — of snow with a low temperature of about 26 degrees, the weather service said.

On Saturday in Denver, there’s a chance of rain, perhaps mixing with a little snow, mainly in the afternoon. The snow accumulation should be minimal — less than 1 inch is expected.

Easter Sunday in the city should be mild, with mostly sunny skies and a high temperature near 50 degrees, the weather service reports.

Snow and snow showers should continue in the mountains today, but, for the most part, they’ll be winding down.

Most of the snow expected to fall today will be in the northern and central mountains at elevations above 10,000 feet, the weather service said, and those areas could get up to 3 inches.

Vail’s forecast calls for a 40 percent chance of snow this afternoon, with a high temperature of 38 degrees and winds gusting up to 35 mph, according to the weather service.

On Saturday, Vail has a 30 percent chance of snow, with a high temperature of about 39 degrees. On Sunday, skies over Vail should be mostly sunny, and the high temperature should be about 42 degrees.
