Damian Harrell broke the Arena Football League record for touchdown receptions, catching his 303rd and 304th scoring passes in the Chicago Rush’s 70-35 win over Harrell’s former team, the Colorado Crush, in Rosemont, Ill., on Saturday.
Harrell, in his first season in Chicago (3-1) after five with Colorado, finished with five catches for 60 yards. John Dutton was 26-of-36 for 271 yards and four TDs for the Crush (1-2).
UNC baseball knocks off No. 1 Sun Devils.
Northern Colorado toppled No. 1-ranked and previously undefeated Arizona State 6-3 at the Bob Schaefer Memorial baseball tournament in Tempe, Ariz., on Friday.
Of UNC’s six wins this season, three have been upsets of ranked teams. The Bears (6-14) also won two games over then-No. 20 Texas A&M to split a four-game, season-opening series in February at College Station, Texas.
Against Arizona State (19-1), the Bears rallied from a two-run deficit in the third inning. A double by Erik Hegstad was followed by a groundout, two hit-by-pitches and three singles, and the Bears led 4-2.
On Saturday, UNC fell to No. 5 Cal-Irvine 9-6.
Rapids win last tuneup.
The Colorado Rapids got a Stephen Keel header for a goal in the 86th minute to defeat the Chicago Fire 1-0 in Ridgeland, Miss. Jose Luis Burciaga Jr. assisted on the goal in the Rapids’ final preseason game before the regular season starts Saturday vs. Los Angeles in Commerce City.
DU’s Kittle sets school mark.
Denver’s Grace Kittle finished 17th in the 100 breastroke and teammate Kelsey Totura was 25th in the 200 backstroke at the NCAA women’s swimming and diving championships in Columbus, Ohio. Kittle’s finish was the highest in a championship meet for a Pioneers swimmer.
Eagles in, Rage out.
The Rocky Mountain Rage lost 20 of its last 27 games of the season, including a 2-1 loss to Bossier-Shreveport on Saturday, and will miss the Central Hockey League playoffs. The Rage, which led the Northwest Division as recently as Jan. 22, finished three points off the division pace.
• The Colorado Eagles won the Northwest Division and earned the Northern Conference’s No. 2 seed despite a 3-2 shootout loss to the Youngstown SteelHounds in the final game of the regular season.

Littleton 12-year-old Missy Franklin swam two Olympic Trial-qualifying times at the National Club Swimming Association Junior Nationals in Orlando, Fla. Her 200 individual medley time of 2:19.12 set a national age group short-course record to qualify in the event. Her 50 freestyle time of 26.21 also qualified.
