HOLLY, Colo.—Residents of Holly are marking the one-year anniversary of a tornado that killed two people and destroyed or damaged dozens of homes in the southeastern Colorado town.
Residents plan a community dinner followed by a memorial service at 8 p.m. The town has invited people from other communities who helped when the tornado hit a little after 8 p.m. March 28th, 2007.
Rosemary Rosales, 28, died from her injuries in the tornado. Delores Burns, 76, died about a month later from her injuries.
The governor’s office says 17 new homes have been built or are under construction and another 22 are being repaired.
