Rick Steves’ Picnic Set is a good deal for folks looking for one compact set of utensils for camping, backpacking or carry-on. Lightweight but pretty sturdy, the set includes a simple corkscrew and two each of teaspoons, forks and bread knives (with enough of an edge to hack apart a chicken breast), all in a plastic, screw-top cylinder easily swished out with soap and water. I also tested the company’s theory that the corkscrew and knives were carry-on friendly — took them through Denver International Airport and the much crankier Tampa International Airport, and no one batted an eye. You might find cheaper ones at a sporting goods or outdoor store, but only by a buck or two, and the carrying case is a plus. $9.95,
