Fire gutted a home Monday in Larimer County west of Horsetooth Reservoir.

At about 1:40 p.m. the Poudre Emergency Communications Center took several 911 calls reporting a house fire at 5009 Fawn Lane, authorities said in a press release.

No one was injured in the fire, said the Poudre Fire Authority.

Firefighters had trouble getting to the fire because of steep sloping roads in the area, the fire authority said, and water had to be trucked in because there were limited hydrants in the area.

More than two dozen firefighters fought the blaze and the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office, Fort Collins Police and the American Red Cross also responded, the fire authority said.

The Red Cross is assisting residents of the home with emergency shelter, food and clothing.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. A dollar amount of damage was not released.

Two family pets, a cat and a hamster, are missing, the fire authority said.
