DENVER—The National Weather Service has issued a “Red Flag Warning” for wildfires in all of southeastern Colorado this afternoon.

The agency says warm, dry and breezy conditions will create “explosive fire-growth potential” from noon today until 8 p.m.

The agency says relative humidities will drop to near 10 percent accompanied by southwest winds with gusts up to 35 mph.

A red flag warning means critical fire weather conditions are either occurring or are imminent.

The warning affects some 14 southeastern counties including El Paso and Pueblo counties.
