Kroenke Sports Enterprises, owner of the Colorado Rapids, strengthened its relationship with English Premier League club Arsenal by purchasing a 50 percent stake in Arsenal’s broadband Internet business.
Arsenal and the Rapids previously announced the creation of a “strategic partnership agreement.” Kroenke acquired 12 percent ownership of Arsenal a year ago.
Arsenal plays Liverpool today in the UEFA Champions League quarterfinals, airing on ESPN2 at 12:30 p.m.

The Colorado Eagles signed Colorado College standout forward Scott Thauwald before the Central Hockey League team begins its conference finals playoff series Friday night against the visiting Texas Brahmas.
Thauwald, a 6-foot, 190-pound left winger, captained Colorado College to the WCHA championship this season before the Tigers were eliminated from the NCAA Tournament by Michigan State.
“We’re excited to add another promising amateur player to our roster,” said Eagles general manager and coach Chris Stewart. “Scott is coming from a very solid college program, and I expect him to bring speed, skill, grittiness and depth to our lineup.”
Nichols on target for trip to Beijing.
Jenny Nichols of Cheyenne finished at the top of the women’s recurve standings Sunday at the U.S. Olympic archery team trials in Chula Vista, Calif. Nichols will represent the United States at the Summer Games in Beijing this year.
