Level 3 Communications chief executive James Crowe received $10.7 million in compensation last year, according to a regulatory filing released last week.
The Broomfield-based long- haul fiber company paid Crowe a salary of $790,385 in 2007, up from $706,731 in 2006. The company’s board of directors compensation committee gave Crowe the raise after determining that his salary was lower than CEOs at similar companies.
Crowe also received stock awards of $5 million and options totaling $4.8 million.
Level 3’s stock closed Monday at $2.21, down nearly 64 percent in the past year.
