An 85-year-old woman who died in a fire-related accident this weekend was identified by authorities today as Audrey Fuller of Wheat Ridge.
The incident happened Saturday at Fuller’s home in the 4300 block of Kendall Street, said Lisa Stigall, a Wheat Ridge Police Department spokeswoman.
Fuller was smoking on her patio when her clothes caught fire, Stigall said.
Her husband doused the fire with water but Fuller later died from burns, Stigall said.
Fuller used oxygen for health reasons. Although she wasn’t using her oxygen tank at the time of the accident, she likely had just stopped using it and her clothes absorbed gas that became highly flammable, Stigall said.
Investigators have ruled her death an accident.
