SANTA ANA, Calif. — A judge has restricted the activities of protesters who have been picketing a Southern California Vietnamese-language newspaper because they believe the publication has communist leanings.
Orange County Superior Court Judge Derek Hunt granted a preliminary injunction against the protesters Tuesday saying they may not threaten newspaper employees, trespass, vandalize property or interfere with customers.
The Nguoi Viet Daily News sued the protesters after more than two months of demonstrations. Anti-communist activists are angry that the paper printed a picture of a foot- washing basin decorated in the colors of the South Vietnamese flag. They feel the photo shows disrespect to their former homeland.
