Luke Symons finished 10th with a 4-over-par 220 on Tuesday to pace the Colorado men’s golf team to third place at the Colorado-Stevinson Ranch Invitational in Stevinson, Calif.

Anthony Michael of Oklahoma City won with a 4-under 212, and New Mexico State topped the 14-team standings at 872, followed by Saint Mary’s (Calif.) at 880 and Colorado at 886.

Boulder’s De Reuck to miss Olympic trials.

Boulder’s Colleen De Reuck has withdrawn from the women’s Olympic marathon trials, which will be held April 20 in Boston, because of an injury. A four-time Olympian, De Reuck won the marathon Olympic trials in 2004. De Reuck, also a two-time American 8-kilometer cross country champion, will be 44 on Sunday.

Stine leads Falcons to national championships.

The NCAA selection committee awarded six Air Force men’s gymnasts at-large bids to the national championship meet that begins April 17 at Stanford’s Maples Pavilion.

Greg Stine will compete in the all-around competition. He is the nation’s top-ranked individual qualifier. Jacob Schonig, top-ranked among at-large gymnasts in the still rings, also received a bid. Also headed to the national meet: Josiah Loeser, rings and parallel bars; Aaron Zaiser, floor exercise and bars; Brian Boardman, vault; and Brennan Wolford, floor.

Crush’s Nelson honored.

The Arena Football League named Colorado Crush wide receiver Ben Nelson its offensive player of the week after Nelson set a career high with five touchdown catches in the Crush’s 67-54 victory over the Los Angeles Avengers.
