Boulder City Manager Frank Bruno will become the University of Colorado at Boulder’s vice chancellor for administration in June, the university announced today.
Bruno has been the Boulder’s chief executive since 2003 after eight years as city manager in Fort Collins.
“I am impressed with Frank’s record of achievement and leadership at the city,” Chancellor G.P. “Bud” Peterson said in a statment. “Managing human and physical resources forms one of the university’s most significant challenges, and Frank’s record of success in these areas speaks for itself.”
With the city, Bruno manages 1,300 full-time employees and a budget of more than $240 million.
In his new post, he will oversee the university’s 1,000 acres, 9 million square feet of buildings and 6,900 employees.
Bruno succeeds Paul F. Tabolt, who retired in March.
