AUGUSTA, GA. — Tiger Woods was at even-par midway through his opening round of the 2008 Masters. The clubhouse leader was Englishman Ian Poulter, who finished his day at 2-under 70.

Poulter, playing alongside Mark O’Meara, one of Woods’ closest friends, made a hole-in-one on the 170-yard, par-3 16th. It was the first hole-in-one in the Masters since Trevor Immelman’s ace in the final round of the 2005 tournament.

O’Meara finished his day with a 71, as did Peter Lonard and Heath Slocum. The start of play was delayed one hour because of fog.
