ASPEN, COLO. — The man who founded and later sold the Vail Daily says he plans to start a competing publication this spring.

Jim Pavelich says the newspaper will start out very small. He is still looking for people for the staff.

He says the paper won’t shy away from writing about scandals but that he wants it to hire people “who dont wake up every day trying to find out whats wrong with the community.”

Pavelich also is an owner of the Denver Daily News and the San Francisco Daily News.
