Two men whose bodies were found Sunday at Speer Boulevard and Colfax Avenue have been identified as George Chase Alone, 47, and Howard Huntsinger, 44.

Public records indicate both had been homeless. Huntsinger had “no known address” before or after he spent 100 days in the Denver County Jail last year on an assault charge, according to jail records.

Chase Alone had listed 2100 Broadway in Denver as his address, which is the location of the Colorado Coalition for the Homeless.

Chase Alone has a lengthy criminal record dating back to 1995, including assault, trespassing, loitering, public drunkenness, urinating in public and numerous disturbing the peace charges.

The two were found dead in the grassy area near Speer Avenue and Colfax Avenue about noon Sunday, covered in blankets. Nearby, a shopping cart was loaded with a suitcase and other personal items

Autopsies on the men were performed today, but police said neither man had visible signs of trauma, Detective Sharon Hahn, spokeswoman for the Denver Police Department, said Sunday.

According to the National Weather Service, temperatures in Denver the night before had dropped to 27 degrees.
