A young Highlands Ranch man who allegedly flashed a badge and handcuffed a teen involved in toilet-papering a house has been arrested on suspicion of impersonating a police officer.

Douglas County deputies arrested Jesse Archuleta, 19, after finding a badge and handcuffs in his car early this morning.

The deputies responded to a caller who said that a 19-year-old male had been handcuffed by someone claiming to be a law-enforcement officer in the 2600 block of Danbury Lane, according to a news release.

“Upon arrival, it was learned that two teens were sitting in a car waiting for their friends while they ‘TP’d’ another friend’s house. While there, a man drove up and got out of his car and contacted the occupants, identifying himself as a police officer and holding a badge in his hand. The male suspect ordered the driver out of the car, handcuffed him and placed him in the back seat of the suspect car,” the release said.

The impersonator then ordered the other occupants of the car to clean up the toilet paper.

He then released the teen he had handcuffed and drove away.
