Tuesday is Tax Day, and free help is available for some procrastinators.

Tomorrow from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at King Trimble Center, 2980 Curtis St. in Denver, low- to moderate-income taxpayers (total household income of $40,000 or less)can get free help from professionals.

This is a first-come, first-served event, so taxpayers are encouraged to arrive early.

Volunteers from the Internal Revenue Service, Denver Asset Building Coalition, US Bank, the city’s Office of Economic Development and Making Connections Denver will be on hand.

Thirty-three post offices in Colorado will offer later mail-collection services Tuesday night. In the metro area, the downtown Denver post office at 951 20th St. will be accepting returns until midnight, as will the General Mail Facility at 7500 E. 53rd Place; Boulder Valmont Station, 2995 55th St.; Littleton Highlands Ranch post office, 9609 S. University Blvd.; and Longmont’s main post office, 201 Coffman St., as well as the city’s Twin Peaks Mail Processing Center, 1845 Skyway Drive.

Many other offices will have later collection times Tuesday, but there will be no window service available. Customers can call the Postal Service customer line at 1-800-ASK-USPS (1-800-275-8777) to find other late tax-mail collection sites.
