A cyclist in Fort Collins was seriously injured after he served into the path of a car this morning on Timberline Road, police said.
Witnesses told police Christopher Kavanaugh, 41, of Fort Collins was pedaling north in the 500 block when he swerved into the road in front of a Buick LeSabre driven by Rowdy Harnish, 31, of Fort Collins.
Kavanaugh was not wearing a helmet and sustained serious injuries, according to Fort Collins police. He was rushed to Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland.
Police said they closed Timberline Road for four hours after the 7 a.m. accident to investigate.
