One of the first sunscreen weekends is at hand. With a high temperature near 70 degrees today — closing in on 80 Saturday — picnic, barbecue and gardening season has begun.
The National Weather Service forecast for the week ahead is warm and dry, with no precipitation expected.
Saturday’s high of 78 will mellow to 71 degrees on Sunday.
By Monday, skies will be partly cloudy, with a high near 63, and temperatures will be in the 50s on Tuesday and Wednesday.
In Vail, today’s high could top out at 52 degrees. Saturday’s high will be 59, according to the weather service.
Sunday in Vail will be cooler, at 52 degrees.
