The Wheat Ridge Library, 5475 W. 32nd Ave., will be closed the remainder of today as a gas line is capped.
A strong gas odor was detected shortly before 9 a.m. this morning. Workers removing a wall on the second floor for an office found an unmarked gas line.
Xcel Energy will inspect the line after work is completed. Library spokeswoman Jackie Powers said it is not known how long the work will take.
Patrons may use any of the Jefferson County Library system’s other nine locations.
